Midnight Lily

This hand dyed colourway was inspired by a friends gorgeous lilies. Holly from Hek of a Knit, shared a beautiful lily from her garden on a zoom knit night and I immediately was hit with inspiration. during the day the lily had bright red tones with an almost ombre affect to deep purples, while in the evening it looked almost deep red to beautiful black. Using this effect within my hand dyed colours seemed like a perfect match for this lovely flower. I used a very vibrant red to begin with, and then worked through layering to reach the dark purple/black tones. The effect is almost ombre-like in some places, but overall much more subtle than that.

All yarns are hand dyed by me and as much as I try to keep colour ways consistent each small batch, and skein comes out a touch different than the last - that being said when using more than one skein, I highly recommend alternating skeins as you knit.
